The church is on Stapleton Road, with several transport links nearby. By Bus: First Bus company bus routes runs No 24, 48, 48A, or 49 from Bristol City Centre (Cabot Circus) that stop on Stapleton Road nearby. There is a bus stop going in both directions outside the church. By train: To get to Kensington by train, GWR services run from Bristol Temple Meads station (5 minutes journey time) to Stapleton Road train station, BS5 6NE. From the train station turn left, then 5 minutes walk to Kensington Baptist Church, Stapleton Road (BS5 0NX). By train GWR from Bristol Parkway station (9 minutes journey time) to Stapleton Road train station, BS5 6NE. From the train station turn left, then 5 minutes walk to Kensington Baptist Church, Stapleton Road (BS5 0NX). Visiting from further afield? Bristol International Airport (BRS) is our nearest airport. An Airport Shuttle bus runs to Bristol Bus Station, Marlborough Street, BS1 3NU or to Cabot Circus. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes, but depending on time of day can take longer. A bus or taxi can be got from there to Kensington Baptist Church, Stapleton Road (BS5 0NX).

Kensington gathers at 10.30am for a service at 11am and 6.30pm. People start arriving well before that and you’d be welcome to join our prayer meeting at 10am. Tea/coffee, juice (free of charge) is served before and after the morning and evening services. We sometimes have Easton Eats after the morning service where everyone is invited to eat together. This is a great way to have fellowship and get to know one another better.

Don’t worry, plenty of people are new. Kensington is located near the city centre and many people who come along on Sundays are new to church and new to Christianity. That means we’re expecting you and want what happens at church to be as clear and accessible as possible.

The service will last for about 1 hr 45 minutes. There will be a music group that leads the church in singing. Different people will lead the church in prayer. The Bible will be read and someone will give a talk based on the Bible. You are more than welcome to just sit and watch – but you’re also welcome to join in!

Church is like a family gathering. But of course, each culture has a different way of dressing for different occasions. Some people wear jeans and a T-shirt others prefer a dress or good shirt. You’ll find a great range at Kensington. Since Jesus welcomes all cultures, we do to. Dress how you like.

There are lots of people at Kensington who are thinking through the claims of Jesus and we welcome everyone to join us at Kensington and think through who Jesus is and what he has done.

In the morning service, we have a wide range of childrens groups for different ages. It will be announced when it is time for them to go out for their groups. If it’s their first time in coming and joining in, go with them to sign a consent form before returning to the service. Hearing loop: The community hall where we meet is fitted with a hearing loop. Wheelchair access: There is wheelchair access to both the front and rear of the church. The front entrance takes you straight into the community hall where the church services are held. The rear access involves moving through the Muller hall, a hall way and using a lift which takes you to the community hall. Accessible toilets: There are accessible toilets located on the lower floor and ground floor of the building. Large print notes and song sheets: The notice sheet that is given out by those welcoming people into the building is available in large print format. Three projectors display the songs onto screens at the front of the community hall and large print song sheets are also available. Assistance/Aid dogs: People with Assistance/Aid dogs (e.g. visual/hearing impairment) are welcomed. A dog drinking bowl can be available on request.

Holy Communion is for Christian believers who know Jesus as their Lord and saviour. People that aren’t Christians are welcomed to observe and reflect on what they see and hear.
