1. WHO WE ARE
a. We seek to be a dynamic community of God’s people demonstrating the reality
of the Kingdom of God through our relationships and outreach.
b. We place prayer at the centre of our church life, acknowledging not only the
worth of the triune God, but also our dependence upon Him for all things.
c. We believe in preaching which is Word based, Spirit driven and relevantly
applied.
d. We believe that every member should be given the chance to develop their
knowledge of God’s Word and the application of it in their daily lives.
e. We believe that by recognising all that we are and have belongs to God and is
to be used wisely for His glory is the appropriate response to His grace shown
to us.
f. We place high value on building genuine relationships of love and care
between members of the church family
g. We understand we are a small part of the world-wide Church and are joined in
love to those who are suffering for their faith.
2. HOW WE THINK
a. We believe that God is glorified through a variety of people groups meeting
together to praise Him. We believe this diversity reflects God’s purpose for our
world.
b. We believe that the church leadership and structures should seek to reflect
the ethnic make-up of the community we serve.
c. We recognise liberty of conscience in all secondary issues and will encourage
loving, informed discussions where differences may arise.
d. We believe we should appreciate the many ways the goodness of God is revealed
in this world and have joy in doing so.
e. We believe that through discipleship and mentoring, the church family can
complement parents as they nurture their children and help them walk with
Christ.
3. WHAT WE DO
a. We believe our worship together should be authentic, vibrant and creative –
shaped by the Word and Trinitarian in nature.
b. We are committed to true evangelical unity and will pursue working
relationships with all churches who seek to be Bible shaped and gospel driven.
c. We will seek to have a voice in our community, city and country.
d. We will aim for excellence and demand integrity in all that we do.
e. We will use our resources as good stewards of God’s world.
f. We expect every member to identify their God given gifts and use them
effectively, encouraged by the support of the church family.
g. We believe that we have a responsibility to identify, prepare and train
future preachers and pastors.
4. HOW WE RESPOND TO OTHERS
a. We believe that together we have a responsibility to reach out into the
community of Easton with the gospel message. We believe that individually we
have a responsibility to share this with all those we have contact with.
b. We value every person we meet and will treat each one with dignity and love.
c. We believe in prioritising the formation and development of new congregations
in areas of the city where the gospel is not shared.
d. We believe every person has the right to hear the claims of Jesus Christ upon
their life.
e. We believe that we must address the physical, social, educational, material
and emotional needs of people alongside the primary need of their soul.
f. We believe in world mission.
