Kensington Senior Citizen's Day Centre celebrates in November over 30 years of
loving and caring for older people catering for those who are able bodied or
wheelchair bound.
The "Day Centre" starts at 10:00am and finishes at 2.30pm. Each "Day Centre"
activity is packed with lots of fun, games and interesting things for all to get
involved with.
What is the Day Centre
We meet most Tuesdays throughout the year. There are
around 40
people (members and helpers) each week. Mainly ladies, but some men
as well, come to enjoy the time together. Many
live alone and some have a level of disability. Members
come from Easton, St Werburghs, Redcliffe, Eastville, Fishponds, Downend
and other districts of Bristol. Most are brought by minibus or car, some walk.
All the helpers are volunteers who love being with others.

There is tea and biscuits on arrival, plenty of games ("Whot!", Dominoes,
Muggins and many more) |
 |
|
 |
A two course cooked meal
is enjoyed. Each year there is the Christmas dinner.
|
|
A variety of interesting activities such as quizzes, slides, musical items and speakers. |
 |

|
The Day Centre aims to be a loving ‘family’ where friendship, acceptance,
understanding, encouragement, fun and laughter, conversation and especially
God’s love are shared together.

|
Would you like to come along and enjoy friendship, fellowship, food and lots of
things to do? There is a waiting list, but we would love to hear from you.
Please phone the church office and we will be in touch. |
